Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 177230-00-01-05 is a loop-powered Seismic Vibration Transmitter paired with the 16710-25 unarmored interconnect cable. This hardware combination is primarily used to monitor casing vibration on non-critical machinery and directly interfaces with PLCs, DCSs, or SCADA systems.The 177230 Seismic Transmitter is a simple, loop-powered device that can be quickly and easily installed. It can be integrated into your programmable logic controller (PLC) or controls system linked to a plant asset condition monitoring solution. Q:What type of output signal does this transmitter provide?
A:It outputs a standard 4–20 mA loop signal proportional to the designated velocity range. It also features a secondary, raw dynamic acceleration waveform output used for deep diagnostics via portable data collectors.
Q:Can I mount this transmitter using a magnetic base?
A:Yes, but you must exercise extreme caution. Do not "snap" the magnetic base directly onto the machine casing. The resulting mechanical shock can exceed the sensor’s limit and permanently destroy the internal electronics. Instead, always roll the magnetic base smoothly onto the machine surface.
Q:Does it require complex field programming or calibration?
A:No. The device is explicitly designed for a plug-and-play installation with zero field configuration required. The sensitivity is fixed, mapping 4 mA to 0 mm/s and 20 mA to its full-scale value of 12.7 mm/s.
