Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330400-02-00 is a rugged industrial accelerometer sensor, while the 16710-50 is its matching 50-foot shielded interconnect cable. Together, they measure high-frequency machine casing vibration in critical equipment like gearboxes, turbines, and compressors. These accelerometers are intended for critical machinery applications where casing acceleration measurements are required, such as gear mesh monitoring. The 330400 address the requirements of American Petroleum Institute Standard 670 for accelerometers. It provides an amplitude range of 50 g peak and a sensitivity of 100 mV/g. The 330425 is identical except it provides a larger amplitude range (75 g peak) and a sensitivity of 25 mV/g.

A:Because it has the -02 option, it must be threaded directly into a matching M8 x 1 tapped hole on the machine casing. Proper torque and a smooth, flat mounting surface are critical; improper physical installation causes false resonant peaks and severe signal degradation.
Q:Does this hardware comply with industry standards?
A:Yes. The 330400 is specifically designed to meet the design criteria of the American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 670 for casing vibration sensors.
Q:Can I use this sensor to measure vibration velocity?
A:The 330400 outputs a raw acceleration signal. While monitoring systems can mathematically integrate acceleration into velocity, doing so can degrade signal quality and amplify low-frequency noise. For direct, high-quality casing velocity measurements, Bently Nevada recommends using a specialized moving-coil sensor like the 330500 Velomitor Sensor instead.
