Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330400-02-00 is an industry-grade Accelerometer Acceleration Transducer paired with the 16710-30 armored interconnect cable, primarily used for critical machinery casing vibration measurements. These accelerometers are intended for critical machinery applications where casing acceleration measurements are required, such as gear mesh monitoring. The 330400 is designed to address the requirements of American Petroleum Institute Standard 670 for accelerometers. It provides an amplitude range of 50 g peak and a sensitivity of 100 mV/g. The 330425 is identical except it provides a larger amplitude range (75 g peak) and a sensitivity of 25 mV/g.

Q:Can the 16710-30 cable be used with the 330425 sensor?
A:Yes. The 16710 cable series is fully compatible with both the 330400 and 330425 accelerometer lines. The 330425 is the higher-range variant (75 g peak, 25 mV/g sensitivity).
Q:Do I need external power for the 330400-02-00 accelerometer?
A:No, the transducer does not require a standalone external power supply if it is connected to a compatible Bently Nevada Monitoring System. The monitor rack natively injects the required -24 Vdc constant current across the interconnect cable to drive the sensor's internal charge amplifier.
Q:Can I use a regular unarmored cable instead of the 16710-30?
A:You can use an unarmored equivalent if the environment is benign. However, the armored variant is highly recommended for physical protection against sharp bends, hot surfaces, flying debris, and mechanical crush hazards common around heavy rotating machinery.
