IC693PBS105 Description
The GE Fanuc IC693PBS105 is a Series 90-30 PROFIBUS Slave module. IC693PBS105 is compatible with a Series 90-30 CPU, enabling it to be a slave on a PROFIBUS DP network and also allowing communication with a PROFIBUS DP master.

The module operates as a slave and exchanges data automatically with a master device on the same network. Slave modules work on request, acknowledging received messages from a master or transmitting messages to one. It does not have access rights for the bus.

Among its features, the IC693PBS105 has the capability to read or send up to 244 bytes of input or output data. It supports all of the standard PROFIBUS data rates and has an RS-232 serial port. This is used to upgrade the firmware on the module. Users can add the IC693PBS201 module to the PLC rack configuration.

First, users should expand the Hardware Configuration folder in the Navigator. In that folder, they can select which PLC Slot to install the PROFIBUS Slave module. It must be noted that slot 1 is not valid for a PROFIBUS module. From the shortcut menu, users can add module and then find the slave module under the communications tab.
