The IS420UCSCH1A-G-V0.1-A controller is designed for high-speed, high-reliability industrial applications and is loaded with software specific to its intended function. As a turbine or Balance of Plant controller, it operates using Mark VIe firmware and blockware applications while communicating through dedicated Mark VIe IONet interfaces. IONet is a private, special-purpose Ethernet network that exclusively supports Mark controls I/O packs and controllers. IEEE 1588 protocol is utilized over IONet to synchronize controller and I/O module clocks within ±100 microseconds.

External process data is transferred between the controller and I/O Packs through the IONet Ethernet interfaces, including all process inputs and outputs. Unlike traditional controllers that host I/O on a backplane, the UCSE controller does not contain application I/O locally. In redundant configurations, every controller is connected to all I/O networks, ensuring access to the complete set of input data.
