The GE Input Isolator Board DS3800HIOA1C1E features a hole in each corner for installing the board with screws in the drive interior. The GE Input Isolator Board DS3800HIOA1C1E also is populated with fuses and multiple erasable programmable read-only (EPROM) modules. The board has 1 34-pin connector that is accessible from the front of the board. It also is populated with test points and 1 40-pin connector on the surface of the board.

The 4 fuses protect the board circuits from an overcurrent situation. The circuit is exposed to an overcurrent condition or if any other unusual condition happens, the fuse will blow. This shuts down the circuit but protects the components on the circuit from damage. The service information provided with the board will describe the fuse rating. Only replace a fuse with 1 that has an identical rating. If the rating is too low, the fuse will blow more often and cause excessive service expense. If the fuse is rated too high, the components will be exposed to an overcurrent condition which might damage them.

Purchase and store a supply of fuses so that the drive can quickly be returned to service if a fuse blows. To replace a fuse, use your thumb and forefinger to remove the blown fuse from the connector. You might find it helpful to remove 1 end of the fuse at a time from the fuse connector. Installation requires you to press the fuse into the connector and make sure the metal ends touch the clips on the fuse connector.
