Description

The Bently Nevada 21000-34-05-00-015-04-02 is a 21000 Proximity Probe Housing Assembly designed for the external installation of proximity probes on rotating machinery. The assembly provides a protected enclosure for the transducer while allowing convenient access to the probe and extension cable for gap adjustment or probe replacement without dismantling the machine. The housing consists of an aluminum body, a 304 stainless steel probe sleeve, a threaded dome cover, O-rings, thread seal, and conduit connection ports. It is designed to comply with the requirements of API 670 for externally mounted proximity probe housings. This configuration includes a 3300 XL 8 mm proximity probe with connector protector and selectable hazardous-area approvals (Option 34), a 0.5 m (20 in) probe cable (Option 05), no standoff adapter (Option 00), a 1.5 in probe penetration (Option 015), one 3/4-14 NPT plug only (Option 04), and a 3/4-14 NPT mounting thread (Option 02). The reverse-mounted probe design enables the sensing gap to be adjusted or the probe to be replaced from outside the machine, reducing maintenance time and improving service accessibility. For probe penetration lengths between 1.0 and 2.0 inches, the datasheet notes that counterboring the machine case may be required to reduce side-view or rear-view effects.
