Product Description:

The Bently Nevada 330750-20-CN is part of the 330750 High Temperature Velomitor System (HTVS), a specialized piezo-velocity sensor designed specifically for casing vibration monitoring on heavy rotating industrial machinery operating in extreme thermal environmentsTo accomplish this, the transducer design segregates the sensing element from the signal conditioning electronics. The two are permanently connected using an integrated cable. The integrated cable eliminates connectors which are a significant source of transducer failures.

Application:

Gas Turbines: Monitoring critical vibration on the hot-sections and exhaust casings where temperature thresholds routinely destroy standard sensors.
Steam Turbines: Tracking casing vibration near high-pressure steam inlets, steam valves, and main bearing housings.
Generators & Alternators: Continuous structural safety tracking under high thermal loads
High-Temperature Pumps: Tracking structural health on hydrocarbon process pumps, boiler feed pumps, and hot oil pumps.

Q:When should I use the standard 330500 Velomitor instead?

A:If your machinery casing surface temperatures stay consistently below +121°C (+250°F), you should use the standard Bently Nevada 330500 Velomitor. The 330500 contains internal electronics directly within the sensor head and is more cost-effective for low-temperature environments.
Q:What happens if the physical installation is loose?
A:Proper mechanical coupling is critical. A loose or improper installation acts as a mechanical filter, which decreases the high-frequency response and causes signal attenuation or false machinery vibration readings.

Q:How do I know if my unit supports the full +400°C limit?
A:Earlier iterations of the 330750 series were capped at +300°C (+572°F). Current generations capable of handling +400°C are easily distinguished by the letter "G" preceding the serial number on the device nameplate.
