Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330102-02-12-50-01-CN is an 8 mm eddy-current proximity probe featuring mechanical armor protection from the widely trusted 3300 XL series. It is primarily for non-contact vibration, displacement, and speed monitoring on heavy industrial rotating machinery utilizing fluid-film bearings.The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.
Application:
Steam and Gas Turbines: Monitors rotor shaft vibration (radial dynamic displacement) and axial thrust position (static movement) within critical bearing clearances.
Generators & Exciters: Tracks shaft centerline position and thermal growth to prevent rotor-to-stator friction.
Centrifugal and Axial Compressors: Vital for continuous condition monitoring of high-speed process gas compressors.
Industrial Fans and Blowers: Installed on large scale cooling tower fans or blast furnace blowers to catch rotor imbalance.

Q:Is this probe interchangeable with standard 3300 series parts?
A:Yes. The 3300 XL series is fully backward compatible with standard 3300 series components. However, the entire physical path loop (probe, cable, and sensor) should share the same overall system length tuning (e.g., 5-meter) to prevent signal drift.
Q:What material is the sensor tip made of?
A:The probe tip uses Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), a highly robust thermoplastic. This material resists degradation from harsh industrial lubricants, chemical solvents, and high operational temperatures.
Q:Can I connect this probe directly to an acquisition module without an extension cable?
A:No. Because this specific variant is a 5.0-meter system length option, it must be paired with a compatible 3300 XL extension cable and a Proximitor sensor. Only 1-meter or 5-meter direct-connect systems bypass additional cabling.
