The Bently Nevada 177230-02-01-CN 16710-06 is a loop-powered seismic vibration transmitter for continuous condition monitoring of general purpose, non-critical rotating machinery assets. The 177230 Seismic Transmitter is a simple, loop-powered device that can be quickly and easily installed. It can be integrated into your programmable logic controller (PLC) or controls system linked to a plant asset condition monitoring solution. Its simple design reduces training, maintenance, and service costs. The transducer helps you better manage downtime, optimize maintenance planning, and avoid unforeseen catastrophic failures of machinery assets.
Application:
Cooling Tower Fans: Monitors structural vibration and early mechanical looseness caused by blade pitch imbalance or gearbox defects.
Water Circulation Pumps: Tracks overall bearing housing health to prevent sudden cooling loop failures.
Air Compressors: Provides continuous casing velocity readings to detect misalignment in auxiliary air systems.
Process Pumps: Detects cavitation, pipe strain, and early-stage rolling element bearing wear in non-hazardous or certified zone-rated transport loops.

A:The base of the transmitter body features a standard 1/4-28 UNF mounting hole. It must be securely bolted to a flat, machined surface on the machine casing to ensure accurate high-frequency vibration transfer.

A:Yes. The transmitter casing is built from 316L stainless steel and supports up to 100% relative humidity (non-submerged). The 16710-06 cable armor is made of flexible stainless steel braid or interlocking metal armor, which protects the inner conductors from mechanical crushing, abrasion, and electromagnetic interference (EMI).
