Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 177230-00-01-05 is a loop-powered seismic vibration transmitter paired with the 16925-33 33-foot unarmored interconnect cable. Together, they provide continuous 4-20 mA vibration monitoring for non-critical rotating industrial machinery to feed data directly into PLCs, DCSs, or SCADA systems.The 177230 Seismic Transmitter is a simple, loop-powered device that can be quickly and easily installed. It can be integrated into your programmable logic controller (PLC) or controls system linked to a plant asset condition monitoring solution.
Application:
Cooling Tower Fans: Detects blade unbalance, gearbox degradation, or shaft misalignment in remote cooling cells.
Auxiliary Motors & Pumps: Tracks the health of boiler feed pumps, lube oil pumps, and intake fans that support main turbine blocks.
Industrial Ventilation Fans: Catches dust buildup or mechanical looseness on process exhaust and intake fans.
Agitators & Mixers: Keeps track of mechanical stress and bearing degradation on large fluid mixing tanks.

Q:Does it require an external proximity monitor or rack?
A:No. Unlike proximity probes that require a separate proximity monitor or a 3500 rack system, this is an integrated transmitter. It translates raw vibration data directly into a 4-20 mA loop that wires straight to a standard PLC/DCS analog input card.
Q:How is the sensor mounted?
A:The unit utilizes a standard ¼-28 UNF threaded mounting hole at the base. It must be securely coupled to a flat, rigid machine surface to avoid false signals caused by housing resonance.
Q:What type of signal does this sensor output?
A:It outputs a two-wire 4-20 mA current loop. The current value changes proportionally to the peak vibration velocity detected on the machine case.
