This module is the MMII-PD-1-2-120, a model of the Motor Manager II series from General Electric (GE Multilin series). These units were produced and developed initially by the industrial automation branch of GE, and have long since been out of production.
The MMII-PD-1-2-120 unit is a motor control center. This module combines several comprehensive functions regarding control and motor protection. This device is built with a compact frame, and is still outfitted with the capacity to provide advanced protective relaying while at a lower cost than similar, less effective models.
This unit, as well as the other models in the GE Multilin series, is built to handle numerous tasks and reacts if any events occur. It can protect from a possible overload or an unbalanced phasing. Should a contactor fail or a rotor becomes locked and/or stalled, then this unit can detect and run routines to get it under control. The unit is also outfitted with a hot winding thermistor circuit. If the model is receiving a power intake that is below the nominal threshold, this unit is equipped with an undervoltage auto restart.
