IC693CBL300 General Electric I/O bus expansion cable

IC693CBL300 is an I/O bus expansion cable also known as a “Wye cable”. It has a single male 25-pin D connector on one end and a two headed 25 pin D connector - one male and the other female - on the other end. The cable measures 3 foot (1 meter). This pre- wired I/O bus expansion cable can be used to connect either the expansion or remote base plates. A custom cable can be built should the length of a standard cable fall short of the required cable length. There are two types of custom built cables:

Point to Point
Wye
Point to point cables have a single male connector on one end and a single female connector on the other end. This cable is easier to make and saves time. Wye cables have a single male connector on one end and two connectors (One male and the other female) on the other end. Components needed to build custom I / O bus expansion cables include:

The cable itself - Belden 8107. It’s a twisted pair 24 AWG (.22 mm2) copper cable with a rating of 30 V and can withstand up to 80 degrees. It has a nominal impedance of 100 Ω and 70% velocity of propagation.
