GE Fanuc Automation manufactures the IC200UAL006 Micro Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) as a member of the VersaMax series. This device is a small, modular PLC with 23 I/O points which are 13 discrete inputs with voltage ratings of 24 Volts DC, 9 relay outputs, and 1 discrete output with a rating of 24 Volts DC. All of the input and outputs are powered by an external source of power rated 120/240 Volts AC. Like all the other units in the VersaMax product family, the GE Fanuc IC200UAL006 VersaMax PLC can be programmed online by using the GE Fanuc/Emerson PAC Machine Edition software, or it can be programmed through the insertion of a pre-programmed accessory memory module which ensures the application process is not interrupted, since the PLC can evaluate all the changes while the applications are still running. It is notable for its scalability and flexibility and it accepts the ladder diagram instructions.

The GE Fanuc IC200UAL006 Micro 23-point PLC can be expanded to 176 input and output points. It is easily expandable and configurable through the simple insertion of an additional input/output module. The GE Fanuc IC200UAL006 VersaMax Micro PLC and the serial network have multiple communication options, including the RS-232 and RS-485 serial communication ports. The 2 serial communication ports are in concurrence with the VersaMax SE modules, and they can connect to the Ethernet network. The time-sensitive application processes with complex mathematical calculations are done on this device since it can hold a maximum of 4 high-speed counters in a frequency range of 10 kilohertz or 4 pulse width modulation channels in a frequency range of 5 kilohertz.
