Bombardier’s all-round modular TALENT 2 trains are setting a new standard in regional and commuter rail transportation. Significantly different from its namesake, the original TALENT train, TALENT 2 is modular based (meaning it can be easily adapted to both commuter and regional service without much effort) and capable of speeds of up to 160 km/h [4]. In February 2007, DB signed a frame contract with Bombardier for 321 TALENT 2 trains, who in turn entrusted the supply of the traction transformers to ABB.
