The PR6423 003-0D1 is aradioactive radiation resistantnon-contact eddy currenttransducer. The constructionand design allows this sensor tobe used in nuclear radiation zone1 applications on turbomachinery,reactor coolant pumps and othermotors, pumps, fans or blowers.The purpose of a displacementprobe is to measure position orshaft movement without contactingthe measured surface – the rotor. In the case of sleeve bearingmachines, the shaft is separatedfrom the bearing material by athin film of oil. The oil acts asa dampener and therefore thevibration and position of theshaft are not transmitted through the bearing to the bearing case.
